Five Principles on Serving

The Reason for Faith: How can there be only one true religion?

A popular question people have about religion in general is this: how can there be only one true religion? In this sermon, pastor Luke addresses some of the assumptions that underly this question and demonstrates that everyone has views and opinions on religion... the key question is why those views are held. In light of Jesus' statement that he was the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), people must wrestle with his claims for he is, as C. S. Lewis suggested, either Lord, a liar, or a lunatic.

The Reason for Faith: An Introduction

Many people have questions about what Christians believe and why they believe. In this new series, The Reason for Faith, pastor Luke is providing answers to some of the toughest questions that people have about Christianity. In this first sermon, we're introduced to the challenges Christianity faces and encouraged to engage in the life of the mind as a crucial component to our spirituality. After all, Jesus told us that we are to love the Lord with all of our being, including our mind (Mark 12:30).

Gospel & Community: Turning Red Bluff Upside Down

Looking to 1 Thessalonians 1, pastor Luke shared how the early church preached the gospel by word, works, and wonders. This missional method was developed in the home and formed the context for the early church's rapid growth.

Building off of the Parable of the Prodigcal Son (Luke 15), pastor Luke shared a powerful sermon on the beauty of being a church that feels like "home" for people who come to experience the love of God and love of others.

Core Community: Safe Spaces for Growth

Continuing our series on Gospel & Community, pastor Luke looked at Hebrews 10:24-25 and discussed why gathering together is such an important aspect of the Church.

Core Community: The Power of Hospitality

In this sermon, pastor Luke looked at Romans 12:9-21, especially the Apostle Paul's invitation for us to "always be prepared to show hospitality." As a church that values the relationship between the gospel, community, and mission, the role of showing kindness to others is a powerful means of making a difference in people's lives. After all, as Luke points out, much of the Roman Empire was evangelized for Christ due to hospitality!

Finding Joy: Awareness, Thanksgiving, Contentment, & Peace

For the third sermon in our series, Finding Joy, Krystal Burke preached from Philippians 4:4-7 and talked about the need for us to follow the Apostle Paul's pattern of being aware, expressing thanksgiving, becoming content, and experiencing peace!
